Join local fishermen Daniele and Giuseppe aboard a small boat from San Teodoro. Watch traditional trap fishing, swim near Molara and Tavolara, use snorkeling gear and a SUP, and enjoy a seafood lunch made with the day’s catch.
“We joined a day on Orsa Maggiore. Greeting, boarding and briefing were all professional. The vessel was in pristine shape. There were 8 passengers on this trip. There was lots of space to sit, lie down or move from bow to stern. Not long after we left the port we entered a marine preservation area. This operator is licensed to fish there. 25 fish traps had been placed a day earlier. The captain went about retrieving the traps. Some were empty. That day we saw three eels, a moray eel, octopus and other miscellaneous fish. We witnessed the process and could if we wished, hold some of the catch.”
